King Jewelers is an esteemed merchant of fine jewelry, Swiss watches, and wholesale diamonds in Middle Tennessee and South Florida, with a reputation of excellence backed by over 100 years of quality service.

Challenge

To redesign King Jewelers’ website to provide a visually-pleasing, seamless shopping experience fortified with engaging content to appeal to the luxury consumer’s critical eye and refined tastes

Luxury doesn’t have to be ostentatious. In fact, understatement speaks of refinement and class. We incorporated this concept of subtle elegance into the design by using gold accents all throughout the website.

With e-commerce and online shopping being more popular than ever, King Jewelers wanted their website to reflect a more modern aesthetic while still embodying the rich spirit of their 100-year legacy. For a brand catering to luxury consumers, it was important that they enjoy the same experience online as they would in-store.

An Eye for Detail

Luxury doesn’t have to be ostentatious. In fact, understatement speaks of refinement and class. We incorporated this concept of subtle elegance into the design by using gold accents all throughout the website. This treatment not only echoed the brand colors but provided a consistent visual cue for each component on every part of the website. We also framed the main image of the home page in a manner reminiscent of editorial fashion magazines; a nod to our more fashion-forward luxury consumers.

Always Something to Do

This redesign gave us an excellent opportunity to install options that allowed users to act or make a purchase at any point of their journey. Whether that meant adding an item to their cart, reading an article that interested them, or subscribing to King Jewelers’ newsletter, we always gave users something to click on.

It's become a visual experience that not only speaks to luxury consumers but also to the brands King Jewelers prides itself on handling.

A Tale Told in Colors

By using a more muted color scheme involving a multitude of whites, a variety of grays, and a distinct shade of powder blue, we created a website that told an expansive visual story. Upon progressing through the website, the colors would quietly dim as you reached the bottom of the page. The footer would then seal the page with a deep gray that faded to black, like the dimming of the lights after a spectacular stage performance.

With its revamped design, the website isn’t afraid to flaunt its assets. Large photos are now placed liberally throughout the site, letting new and returning visitors see everything King Jewelers has to offer.

Now, its elegant design feels both elite and contemporary; it’s become a visual experience that not only speaks to luxury consumers but also to the brands King Jewelers prides itself on handling.

Generali

Established in Italy in 1831, Generali is one of the largest insurance company in the world. Generali first arrived in Asia in 1975 and is now established in eight markets throughout the region: China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. Hong Kong is the home of Generali's regional headquarters in Asia.

Challenge

Generali Asia was looking for a partner to run an Experience Design training for key managers in the Philippines with the hope of increasing their revenue by fully embracing the role of a design-driven & user-centric organization

Outcome

A 2-day workshop covering high-level human-centric design thinking topics that will introduce key members of the organization to the design thinking framework.
