A Marketplace App to Empower OFWs to Give, Gift and Stay Connected

Building the Tinbo or Tindahan ni Bosing to bridge OFWs to their loved ones back home

The Challenge

In 2024, PLDT Global, the international arm of PLDT was to launch the Tinbo mobile app, or Tindahan ni Bossing, an all-in-one marketplace app for the Global OFW. They came to us with a bare feature set, no platform positioning, and roadmap; initially only relying on their website and semi-manual processes. They were also still in the beginning stages of understanding their specific customer and user base, not yet fully leveraging user behaviors to define the MVP they wanted to launch at the end of the year.

Our Approach

In just 2 quarters, we were able to help PLDT Global launch the Tinbo app by facilitating collaboration as a team and achieve buy-in from all stakeholders through a co-design workshop– where we defined app positioning, user persona and journeys, feature roadmapping, and content & marketing.

This workshop seamlessly transitioned into an MVP design phase where we actualized features planned for in the workshop like: saved transactions, messaging and calls, gifting, localization, and virtual numbers.

With the defined user personas and journeys, UX writing had a role in keeping features approachable and informative. Prototypes and high-fidelity screens as well as well-documented design style guides were created for efficiency and speed in development.
